Product Development Specialist

We are a well-established wholesaler of restaurant front- and back-of-the-house supplies, located in central New Jersey. We are looking for an experienced, talented Product Development Specialist to join our team.

The Product Development Specialist is responsible for the entire process of developing new products from start to finish. This includes identifying a market need, conceptualizing the product, validating the solution, and much more. The role requires a strong understanding of market trends, customer needs, and the ability to effectively manage the product development lifecycle.

Duties & Responsibilities
· Conduct thorough market and product research to identify opportunities for new product development and enhancements to existing products.
· Perform competitive analysis to benchmark against industry standards and trends.
· Determine and validate product specifications through customer feedback and comprehensive market research.
· Collaborate with the company's overseas teams to manage the ordering and receipt of product samples; review and provide feedback on product revisions and approvals.
· Analyze costs, competitors' pricing strategies, marketability, and profitability of products.
· Work closely with multiple departments, including the overseas team and marketing/design team, to bring new or enhanced products to market.
· Evaluate product performance and sales results to identify areas for continuous improvement.
· Conduct administrative tasks related to new product development, ensuring all documentation and processes are maintained accurately.
· Lead or assist with special projects as needed, contributing to the company's overall product development strategy.
· Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements
· 3+ years of product development experience
· Bachelor’s degree
· Bilingual in English and Mandarin
· Work experience in the foodservice industry is a plus.
· Copywriting and proofreading experience is a plus.
